Stephanie Steele has helped us to find the assistance we needed in settling in. She has given us additional tours, a couple of visits to our home to provide information and help in accessing services and activities. She is friendly, knowledgeable, understanding, humorous and caring.

Residents do not have to be Moravian to live at Moravian Village. There is a wide array of diversity in our community, which adds breadth and depth and creates a stimulating atmosphere in which residents can thrive, learn and grow. Many of our residents are former educators, authors, engineers, doctors, clergy, artists, and scientists, just to name a few.
Market Street Cottages is 100% pet friendly, but there are certain suite areas that do not accommodate pets.
Market Street cottages are one-story homes, some with basements, all with either a one- or two-car garage, and varying sized patios, decks and yards. The suites building features four sizes of living accommodations, a few custom apartments, and a variety of services and amenities right in the building. All the enrichment opportunities and dining venues are open to all residents, regardless of living accommodation chosen. The suites building is dually licensed, meaning you can receive licensed personal care services from the staff who work for Moravian Village in your apartment without moving to another location on campus.
The age of residents who move in is widely varied, but has been trending younger in recent years. As young as age 59 to as young as 89; the average is 72-74. The average resident age is 82-84; due in large measure to individuals in Continuing Care Retirement Communities having longer than average life expectancies. It is a known fact that human beings thrive when their lives are filled with friendships and purpose. At Moravian Village, friendships and purpose are the fiber of our being.
Moravian Village is one mile to Downtown Historic Moravian Bethlehem. Historic Moravian Bethlehem is a candidate for inscription on the World Heritage List and will be honored to receive international acknowledgement, bestowed upon the community for its wealth of historical and cultural value. The World Heritage List encourages the recognition and preservation of cultural and/or natural sites determined to be of “Outstanding Universal Value” to humanity, and includes globally iconic sites such as the Great Wall of China, the Acropolis in Athens, Greece; and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Confirmation of the designation is anticipated in 2024.
At Moravian Village of Bethlehem, we proudly trace our roots directly to the Moravian settlers who founded this progressive community on the banks of the Lehigh River and Monocacy Creek in 1741, and continue to foster the mission of enrichment of the human spirit through friendship, education and the arts. Our residents are endlessly inspired by the vibrant energy that has kept the Historic Moravian Bethlehem community thriving for over 280 remarkable years…and proud to be a part of it!

Moravian Village partners with the Bethlehem Area School District, where our residents have spearheaded two reading programs in which residents travel to the schools to provide reading support to elementary and middle school students. Moravian Village also collaborates with the City of Bethlehem to cultivate volunteer projects in need in the city, parks, playgrounds and schools. Our parent company, Bethlehem Area Moravians, leads the charge in donating food, clothing, backpacks, and sponsorship dollars to many nonprofit organizations in need in the Bethlehem community. Residents of Moravian Village join in the effort by putting in volunteer hours to help make these donations come to fruition.
